Property Types
There is a great confusion of terms used in the Spanish property
market, many of them are used incorrectly. In an effort to make your
choice of property easier, we have reduced the number of names we use for
properties we list, and grouped properties together as below.
Apartments:
This category contains Flats, Apartments and Pisos
Bungalow:
In Spain, a bungalow is a terraced house.
Chalet:
An alpine type chalet normally in its own grounds with
roofed veranda to the front.
Commercial:
All our business: Bars, Shops, Offices, Factories etc are
listed in this category, with the actual type of business defined in the
description.
Country House:
This category contains: Town and Country Casas, Country Casitas,
Villas
Farm:
In Spain a farm is usually called a Finca, however many
estate agents have been using this name to describe a farm house. We use
this term to describe a working farm either with or without a house.
Farm House:
Often wrongly called a Finca, we use the term farm house to
describe a house on what used to be a farm. The correct Spanish word for a
farmhouse is Cortijo.
Land:
May be agricultural or urban, one of the many Spanish land
classifications or a building plot
Town House:
A town house is a self contained residence in a town or
village.
